Engrade.com
As a teacher, I choose to use Engrade as an online resource for myself, students and parents. It is simple and user friendly. For students and parents who want to stay up-to-date with grades, assignments, and test/quiz scores, just ask Ms. Presley for your/your students' access code.
If you are new to Engrade, you can set up one account that will work for all your classes that utilize Engrade. If you already have an account set up, just add your access code to your existing list.
To visit the site, you can select the following link, Engrade.com, or type in www.engrade.com into your web browser.
Blogging in Math?
As teachers, we are taught that writing is important in every subject, including math. To help students with this endeavor, they will have a few blogging assignments throughout the year that will be meaningful to the class, school, and/or community. Students will be required to write in complete sentences that answer the questions given in their own words.
These three things I know,
will help your students grow:
Reading, writing, arithmetic
helps the knowledge learned in school stick.

WebQuests
WebQuests are designed with the purpose that students will be able to think at higher order thinking levels, work in groups and independently, and have something tangible that they can present in the end. Students will be able to complete at least two to three webquest during the school year, as time allows. Click the link below to see the list of webquests.

Resources:
- Geometry (McDougal Littell 2007) THE COURSE TEXT- I believe that one of the best resources is the textbook. If students learn to read and comprehend the lessons in their textbooks, then there is little that they can do on their own.
- Classzone.com - On this website students can find many resources, flash cards, activities, powerpoints, practice tests, lesson tutorials and much more. This is also a resource that I use in the classroom so that students can practice what they learned in an interactive way. Make sure that when you go to the website, you choose High School, Missouri, then Find Your Book. If you are ever interested, you can also look at other editions and different subject matters.
- Cool Math (http://www.coolmath.com/reference/geometry-trigonometry-reference.html) find math formulas, definitions, properties, diagrams and examples dealing with geometry and trigonometry on this website. It may be a good place to find review problems or extra explanations to accompany your already existing notes.
- Math-Geometry (http://classroom.jc-schools.net/basic/mathgeom.html) - This is a site with some pretty interesting review games to reinforce concepts taught in geometry class. Go to the site and explore the many different links on the site. Can you find a favorite?
- Math For Morons Like Us (http://library.thinkquest.org/20991/geo/index.html) - This page tries to clear up some common issues that most individuals have with geometry. After a review and explanation, the site provides a practice quiz so that the student can see if they really retained what they learned.
- About.com Mathematics: Geometry (http://math.about.com/library/weekly/aa031503a.htm) - This is a brief, but very good summary of geometry divided into 5 different parts, starting with vocabulary. It is accompanied with diagrams and worked out problems.
- Symbols in Geometry (http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/symbols.html) - A good review of the symbols in geometry, then once you are done reviewing you can take a short quiz with immediate responses after each question. Try it out and see how well you do.
